My interview questions are for Dr Philip Zimbardo.

Dr. Philip Zimbardo is a psychologist, who is most notable running the Stanford Prison Experiment, and for writing important books, one of which is  the Lucifer Effect. His research with the Stanford Prison Experiment helped bring to light the conditions of prisons across America. He is currently a psychologist at Stanford University.

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

  1. Does heroism have more to do with good morals or courage?

  2. If the Stanford Prison Experiment was conducted today, do you think the results would be the same/similar?

  3. How would you have acted in the SPE (as a guard) before your findings on the Lucifer Effect?

  4. Do you think the results would’ve been different in the SPE if all of the participants were females, or with a mix of both?

  5. In your opinion, would the guards have ever come to their senses if the experiment went on long enough? Would someone have stood up to the abusive guards?

  6. What would you change if you could conduct the experiment again?

  7. Are children more likely to display heroic behavior than adults?

  8. What is an act of heroism that you’ve witnessed in your life?

  9. Why is it difficult to turn good, and easier to become bad?

  10. Is hate/discrimination a form of evil, even if the individual isn’t acting upon it?
